Join us for our popular event, taking place at the Royal Welsh Showground in Builth Wells.
NEW FOR 2026! We have a new course which is flatter this year as it avoids the small hill, is all run on a smooth tarmac surface, and will be enjoyed by everyone trying for a fast time early in the new year. Possibly even a PB!

Entering the Race
Pre-race day entry costs £12 if you are affiliated to a UKA organisation eg. Welsh Athletics, £14 if you are not affiliated. Enter via the link above.
Entry on the day of the race – will be accepted at the race HQ in the Montgomery Hall from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Entry is £14 (affiliated), £16 (non-affiliated)…. unless the 200 max. limit has been reached. Please register early to avoid disappointment.
Note that the race is run under UKA rules and is partly on a public footpath so no headphones (of any type) are allowed.
The 5 km Course
The new race route starts and finishes below the Montgomery Hall. It’s an easy two-lap course, all on the lower Showground level, with a new loop on the pavement around the outside of the arena. It’s great for spectators, so bring the family and friends to cheer you on, or even take part themselves!
There will be a water station at the finish, plus refreshments on sale for all runners and supporters at the Race HQ in Montgomery Hall after the race.
The course is well marshalled and signposted, and is suitable for runners of all abilities aged 11+. First Aid cover will be provided.
Race Approval
Our new course on the Showground has been officially measured, and the race has been approved by Welsh Athletics (Licence Number 26RRWA00245) so UKA affiliated runners’ times will appear on Run Britain and Power of 10. WA Licence Number for 2026 race to be advised.
Race Prizes
Prizes will be given out as soon as the race has finished, in Montgomery Hall. Prizes will be awarded for first three men and women, and first man and woman in age categories (excluding first three runners overall) V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65, V70+
Car Parking
Please enter the Showground by the Livestock Entrance, off the A470 (see map). Follow the signs/marshals’ directions for car parking once you enter the Showground.
