Members Survey 2023

Back in November, we asked our members to complete an anonymous questionnaire so we could find out; what we are doing right, what we are doing wrong and what we aren’t doing at all. Our members responded in their droves, and the responses were incredible. We had a lot of honesty, some direction and a huge amount of positivity and love. We would like to say a big thank you to all our members who took the time to participate in our survey, and to do so with a positive and constructive mindset. Below is a review of the key areas found, and crucially, how we are going to address them.

We asked you – What three words best describe Builth and District Running Club?

The top five words which you used are …

  1. Friendly
  2. Sociable
  3. Inclusive
  4. Supportive
  5. Encouraging

We told you that due to Welsh Athletics affiliation increase, we may need to increase our fees

The vast majority of you said we are …

  • Value for money
  • Excellent value
  • Plenty of value
  • Brilliant value
  • Good value

As of April 1st, 2024, our membership fee will increase from £26 to £31 including the administration fee. This includes the £21 (rising from £19.50) Welsh Athletics affiliation fee. We also get charged £150 (rising from £100) from Welsh Athletics for the honour of being an affiliated club. As you can see, we only get a small proportion of the membership fee.

We asked you – Any Social Events, we don’t regularly offer?

The top answers from this question are …

  • Sunday long run
  • Quiz night
  • Or something involving the pub 🤔

We have taken this information and introduced two Sunday long runs. We have a longer run and an Ishy 10k run, which is around 10k in distance. We will send out information regarding these at the start of each week.

We have secured Lee Jarvis to do a music quiz, this Friday at 7.30pm, in The Greyhound.

We asked you – Any other comments or suggestions?

One of the key takeaways we have from our survey is to improve and streamline our communication. In our latest committee meeting we have put together a plan to ensure our information going out to our members is easily available and consistent. This will be rolled out over the next couple of weeks.

Thank you, once again, for taking the time to complete our survey.
